https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFActrWK8ls          Watching tv on Friday I came across this commercial at least five times in two hours. I never really pay attention to commercials but this one struck my attention. Probably because I love Christmas and the commercial is Christmas themed or because I love NBA basketball and Lebron James was in the advertisement. This commercial uses the advertising technique of testimonial because it uses a famous person to help sell their brand, in this case, it is Lebron James. Lebron James is shown with another famous person who is the face of intel, Jim Parson, who is from the Big Bang Theory. Jim Parson is the ghost from Christmas future, who shows James what his family will look like if he does not buy them a new computer from Intel. It shows his family having electronics that does not work without a computer from Intel and the whole family looks confused and disappointed. This commercial shows what a stereotypical Christmas morning looks lik

Driving on the road no matter where I am I see big rigs with the advertisement of the company they are driving on the side of their trucks. I see many different companies with the guerilla advertisements, but personally, the one that I see the most is FedEx trucks. I believe most people will agree with me that the big rigs are very annoying on the road because they drive slower due to the excess load they are carrying, but they still annoy you due to their lack of initiative to get somewhere. What people don't realize is that most likely later that day you will complain to someone about that truck who you couldn't drive around, and you will probably name the company the truck is for due to the advertisement on the side of the truck.     We do not realize how much we remember about the big rigs we pass on the road, but we remember a lot. Not only do we remember it was a big rig, but we go as far as remembering the brand on the truck. The companies who own that tr

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R59TevgzN3k   I have not been able to watch much television in the past week, week and a half, but when  I was able to catch a little on the tube I would see the same commercial repeatedly. The commercial is an advertisement for Samsung phone, which expresses that you will not be happy, successful or be the best if you do not get the newest Samsung phone. It shows the main character upgrading to new iPhone every couple of years throughout his teenage years to adulthood. Then, when he finally switches to a Samsung phone, happiness is achieved. The iPhones never satisfy the customer no matter what.    This commercial connects a supposed average millennial to all who have phones of any age. It shows the evolution of iPhones compared to the evolution of Samsung phones. The advertisement goes through years of new iPhones that the guy has, as opposed to his girlfriend who has a Samsung phone. There a couple of scenes that show a long line of people w

Washington Post CNN The U.S Senate has recently passed the GOP tax bill, that does not help the middle class, it raises the taxes instead of raising the taxes for the upper class and the big corporations. Through Trump's campaign and his presidency, he has stated he would help the middle class with his new tax bill, this has been proven to be a lie. Both the Washington Post and CNN have reported on the tax bill, but they use very different language.     The Washington Post article uses a harsh language describing how Trump is raising the taxes on the middle class and not the big corporations. The article shows how they are not taking this lightly, "Nothing but bad news in the GOP tax plan." Throughout this article, there is a negative use of words and it represents the democratic side of the tax bill. There are multiple sources that are used to confirm their stance on the subject, that the bill will not at all help the middle class. CNN's artic

Commercial      While watching videos on youtube, I stumbled upon a commercial from a department store in London named, John Lewis. It was weird to see ads from companies that aren't even located in the United States. But I guess, that is the world we live in.    This commercial is very effective because it connects with average families in the world, by adding scenes of a dad at his son's soccer game. The commercial continues with the parents on the couch watching their kids open presents on Christmas day. The scene surrounds these characters with the products they sell such as toys, slippers, pajamas, mugs, etc. The company also included an interracial couple, which shows the openness to diversity and that their company does not discriminate against people of different races. This couple has two kids who are pretty well provided for with a nice house and many toys in their own rooms. They have all that a kid could want, showing that all kids want to have these toys,
